Why American depend so much on loans while making high salaries?

Im from an Asian country, and thanks to the more and more info accessible thru the internet , I learn that a great deal of life neccessity products are of roughly the same prices in both America and my country.While taking into consideration that regular salaries in America are at least 7 – 9 times higher than those in here, I am curious why Americans are constantly acting like they’r short on money and always rely on bank loans ,namely vehicle lease/ house mortgage/university tuition loan….etc.
I also heard about 401k pension plan.So may be people are depositing most of their income into 401k account , so there’re little left for regular spending?

Some people in this culture have no self control. they see things they want, and they have no discipline to wait, or to save for them. They want everything all at once, and do not prioritize or plan purchases well. Some people also shop to cure depression temporarily. Most people will buy whatever is marketed to them. School here is too exensive relative to what people will earn when they graduate. Many people live for today and don’t think about tomorrow. And there are also people with lower incomes who could not purchase many basic things without credit. Debt is not seen as a bad thing here. Debt is how anyone who wants to start a business gets it going…
