West Ridge Academy – The Answer To Teens Who Have Difficulty In Their Lives

West Ridge Academy has been helping young people deal with hardships since 1964. It was a treatment place for kids called Utah Boys Ranch. They are headquartered in West Jordan, Utah. With its elaborate outreach to teens from all walks of life, West Ridge Academy has the capacity to provide clinical services and education amongst other programs that can benefit teens who are at risk. Initially, the academy was for both boys and girls but was became a male-only program in 2005. Even the most troubled girls were not barred from the West Ridge Academy. The non-profit institution opened up a facility for girls on the same sprawling campus.

At West Ridge Academy, young people, age range of 9-17 years, get education and experiences that promote their esteem and spiritual awareness. The programs offered are aimed at guiding the youth in building personal accountability, change of attitude and developing an endurance to overcome and cope with challenging life experiences. Moreover, younger underprivileged kids about age five are also taken up for mentor-ship and emotional guidance at the Christian non-biased institution. Most visitors are impressed by the size of West Ridge Academy especially if you pictured a mere cluster of buildings for dormitories and administration blocks. With eight buildings for the boys and a huge administrative block which has the offices and classrooms, the academy is a college style campus. There are two fully equipped gyms and an apartment for out of town visitors at West Ridge Academy. You can find these on girl’s or boy’s campuses.

Westridge Academy is a Christian non-denominational treatment center for young people who are challenged by various issues that cause significant psychological problems. It is an appropriate center young people with rebellious and aggressive behavior. West Ridge Academy is very much prescribed for students who have a background of disrespect to parents or who need psychological therapy, self-inflicting behavioral problems or prone to suicidal thoughts. This school also has programs specifically geared toward those students who may be struggling with problems such as: sexual promiscuity, lack of motivation, self esteem issues, and substance abuse. The school is accredited by NAAS as well as being licensed by the state. Therapists are at the Westridge Academy have Master or Doctoral level credentials. The primary mentors are available in their dorm next to the students anytime you feel like you need some personal help.

Most of the students in this school are composed of residents from Utah while some of them coming from out of state. This program is operated by people from the Utah area. With their cooperation, Westridge Academy has been able to achieve various milestones including the pride of having helped over 25,000 youth go through their program. With this, the school can be regarded as having continually attained its goal of offering hope and healing to young boys and girls by providing them with necessary coping facilities in the moral, material and spiritual realms. As a result, this gives them the skills to integrate themselves back into society and lead prosperous lives. West Ridge Academy is indeed a great school that has a powerful affect on most youth.
